Being unemployed does not necessarily mean collecting unemployment, the contributory unemployment benefit. Either by not having the right to it or by having exhausted it, this help is not always received when one is unemployed. In those cases, there are other benefits that, if the requirements are met, can be collected.
The State Public Employment Service (SEPE) has published on its Twitter social network profile that there are up to six different types of subsidies for people who cannot collect unemployment. Depending on your situation, you will be able to perceive one or the other.
The vast majority of these subsidies have common requirements . One of them, obviously, is not having the right to the contributory benefit, but there are others such as being registered as a jobseeker, not giving up the job search or having an income lower than 75% of the Minimum Interprofessional Salary. Apart from these conditions, each of them has its own peculiarities:
Insufficient contributions subsidy
It is intended for people who do not get to contribute enough to be unemployed . They must have worked three or six months (whether they have family dependents or not), the amount is 451.92 euros per month and the duration depends on the time contributed by the aforementioned family dependents: in the worst case it lasts six months and the best case reaches 21 months.
Subsidy for exhaustion of contributory benefit
The SEPE informs that it is available to people of at least 45 years of age without family dependents who have exhausted the contributory benefit. For people with family responsibilities there is the unemployment benefit modality . The amount is 451.92 euros per month and can be charged for 180 days.
Allowance for returned emigrants
As its name indicates, it is intended for workers who return to Spain after working abroad. At least one year of work must be accredited in a country that does not belong to the European Economic Area or with which there is no agreement. The amount is also 451.92 euros per month and its duration is up to 18 months in periods of six months that can be extended.
Allowance for those released from prison
It is offered to people who have been admitted to prison as long as they have been for sentences of more than six months in duration and when they are less than 52 years old. As in the previous ones, its amount is 451.92 euros per month and its duration is up to 18 months.
Subsidy for people over 52 years of age
This aid is intended for people who have exhausted unemployment or unemployment benefit and reach the age of 52 years . In addition, they must have contributed 15 years and two within the last 15. The amount is 451.92 euros per month and lasts until the worker reaches retirement age and collects the corresponding pension.
Disability pension review allowance
It applies to workers whose degree of permanent disability is reduced to a partial one or with the disability recently eliminated and who are unemployed. The amount is also 451.92 euros per month and its duration is 18 months in extendable periods of six months.
