Teruel Will Host The XXXVII Fairs Of Ham And Quality Food


The XXXVII Teruel Ham and Quality Food Fairs will be held from September 16 to 19, including new features such as the Sabor Tunnel or the agri-food products market.

The program of activities will begin on Thursday 16 at 10:00 am at the Conference and Exhibition Center with the Teruel Ham Quality Contest. In that same space and day, but in the afternoon, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the Sabor Tunnel will take place in which you can taste, savor and score the best Teruel Hams and Shoulders in 2021 that have been submitted to the contest held in the morning. Among all the participants, an extraordinary Teruel Ham will be raffled.

This year’s edition will also continue with the gastronomy workshops, which are also held at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos and which, on this occasion, will focus on cocktails applied to aperitifs, Teruel truffles, cheeses, pairing with craft beers. from Canada and the Ham from Teruel.

On Friday the 17th from 11.00 to 13.00 there will be a showcooking with Daniel Yranzo, chef, at the School of Hospitality. In the afternoon, at 7.30 pm, the Quality Contest prizes will be awarded to the best hams and shoulders with Denomination of Origin at the Exhibition and Congress Center.

One of the main novelties of this year is the first Agri-Food Products Market, which is organized in the Glorieta on Saturday 19 from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 16:30 to 21:00. An event in which there will be stands for the sale of products from the entire province of Teruel such as oil, truffle, wine, artisan pasta, duck derivatives, sausages and ham, cheese, peach or mushrooms, as well as a terrace to taste these products. and children’s activities. At 7:00 p.m. the fifth edition of the Teruel JAM-ON-FEST Group Music Festival will also take place in the Glorieta.

The program includes other acts. For example, on Saturday there will be a professional meeting between producers of Teruel ham and charcuteros from Madrid and Bilbao, with individualized commercial meetings, visit to drying rooms, tasting of the pieces participating in the quality contest, visit to the Glorieta market, gastronomy workshops and city tour. The individualized business meetings will continue on Sunday morning at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos.
